Motivational Interviewing Immersion in Staff Supervision

December 5, 7, 12, & 14, 2023 | 1:30-4:30pm

**You MUST sign up for either pre- and post-course mock interviews BEFORE completing your course registration – follow instructions at the bottom of this page**

Description:
This training is for learners who have completed the MIF and MIA trainings and who are in a role that involves supervision of staff. This training will deal with ways in which the spirit, techniques and concepts of MI may benefit supervisors in their efforts to support and motivate the staff they supervise in carrying out their job responsibilities. The training will involve exercises employing the material presented in previous trainings in supervisory situations.

This is a non-judgmental environment and it is not a test! You will be asked to complete a mock interview or questionnaire before the program to assess your existing skill-level with motivational interviewing. We absolutely do not expect you to be an expert before the training. The feedback you receive is for us to evaluate our ability to support you and your professional growth.

Objectives:
• Develop a culture of compassionate listening and collaborative conversation
• Using MI to improve interactions among staff and people served
• Using MI to improve client outcomes
• Using MI to reduce stress and burnout among supervisees
