Description:

This presentation will focus on helping clinicians assess youth for bipolar disorder in the context of an opioid use disorder and/or other substance use disorder. Recommendations for medication management for youth with co-occurring bipolar disorder and an opioid use disorder and/or other substance use disorder will also be reviewed.  

Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to list questions they can ask to assess youth for bipolar disorder in the context of an opioid use disorder and/or other substance use disorder. 
  • Participants will be able to summarize the evidence supporting pharmacologic treatment for youth with co-occurring bipolar disorder and an opioid use disorder and/or other substance use disorder.
