Bio | Maya Williams, MSW

Maya Williams is a Black/Mixed Race queer non-binary woman, writer, and suicide survivor based out of Portland, Maine. She moved to Maine from North Carolina in 2017 to get her Masters in Social Work with a Certificate in Applied Arts and Social Justice from the University of New England. They have worked in social justice/educational programming, poetry, storytelling, literature, and theater with organizations such as Maine Inside Out, EqualityMaine, Speak About It, Maine Humanities Council, Indigo Arts Alliance, and more. Maya is honored to begin working with MTN as their Sexual Assault Program Coordinator.
